Protein Swap | Greek Chorizo Patty Mezze Bowls
with Tzatziki, Couscous & Lemony Salad
The mezze approach to mealtime works well with kids, because they love being able to pick and choose as they go. They’ll enjoy bites of Greek-spiced chorizo patties, crisp cucumbers and cabbage, and warm couscous, with a dip of tzatziki whenever they like.
We will send you:
- 500g Canadian-raised ground chorizo pork sausage meat
- 1 Lemon
- 4 Cucumbers
- 300g Shredded cabbage
- 200g Couscous
- 30g Panko
- 120g Garlic-cucumber yogurt (tzatziki)
- 20g Weekend on Mykonos spices (parsley, oregano, dill, onion powder, garlic powder, kosher salt)

Salt & pepper (S&P)
Small pot (or kettle)
BBQ (or pan)

Preparation

Boil the couscous
- Heat the BBQ on high (or pan on medium-high), making sure to oil the grill first.
- In a small pot (or kettle), bring 2 cups water to a boil.
- In a large bowl, combine the couscous and boiling water.
- Cover and let sit for 5 min.
- Fluff the couscous; season with S&P.

Prepare the patties
- In a medium bowl, combine the beef, panko, spices and S&P.
- Form into 8 patties.

Grill the patties
- Add the patties* to the BBQ (or pan) and grill, 3 to 5 min. per side, until cooked through.

Make the salad
- Meanwhile, thinly slice the cucumbers crosswise.
- Juice the lemon.
- In a second large bowl, combine the cabbage, cucumbers, lemon juice, a drizzle of oil and S&P.

Plate your dish
- Divide the tzatziki between your bowls and spread out in a circular motion.
- Top with the couscous, patties and salad. Bon appétit!
