Beef Patties & Tahini Yum Yum Sauce
with Roasted Veggies
This Japanese steakhouse sauce delivers not just one yum but two! This version uses sesame-rich tahini, paprika and lemon, for dunking in browned beef patties (slow-carb fortified with almond flour). Roasted zucchini and sweet pepper can take a dip too.

- 250g Canadian-raised lean ground beef
- 1 Lemon
- 1 Onion (or shallot)
- 2 Green zucchini
- 1 Sweet pepper
- 15g Minced roasted garlic
- 30g Almond flour
- 15ml Tahini
- 3g Sweet paprika

Preparation
Mise en place
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Halve, core and cut the sweet pepper lengthwise into ½ inch pieces.
- Halve the zucchini lengthwise; cut crosswise into ½ inch pieces on an angle.
- Peel and cut the onion into ¼ inch wedges.
- Halve the lemon; juice ½ and quarter the remaining ½.
Roast the vegetables
- In a medium bowl, combine the zucchini, a drizzle of oil and S&P.
- On a lined sheet pan, toss the sweet pepper and onion with a drizzle of oil and S&P.
- Roast, flipping and adding the zucchini halfway, 16 to 18 min., until softened and browned.
Prepare the patties
- Meanwhile, in a second medium bowl, combine the beef, almond flour, ½ the garlic, ⅔ of the paprika, 1 egg (double for 4 portions) and S&P.
- Form into 6 patties (double for 4 portions).
Cook the patties
- In a large pan, heat a drizzle of oil on medium-high.
- Add the patties* and cook, 3 to 5 min. per side, until cooked through.
Make the yum yum sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk the lemon juice, tahini, remaining garlic and paprika, a drizzle of oil and S&P.
Plate your dish
- Divide the vegetables between your plates.
- Top with the patties.
- Drizzle with the yum yum sauce.
- Garnish with the lemon wedges. Bon appétit!
