Ground Beef Lo Mein
with Mega Veggies
All good things start with fresh noodles, at least as far as kids are concerned. This quick-to-cook lo mein is tumbled with tons of veggies (carrots, greens and mushrooms) and a hearty helping of ground beef. It’s sealed with a sesame kiss.
We will send you:
- 510g Canadian-raised lean ground beef
- 200g Nantes carrots
- 225g Mushrooms
- 120g Baby greens (baby spinach or kale)
- 90ml Sweet soy sauce
- 450g Fresh noodles
- 15ml Toasted sesame oil
- 24g Mellow Sesame spices (brown sugar, sea salt, white sesame seeds, garlic, sunflower oil, paprika oleoresin, ginger, black pepper)

Preparation
Mise en place
- Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil.
- Halve the carrots lengthwise; thinly slice crosswise.
- Thinly slice the mushrooms.
Cook the beef & vegetables
- In a large pan, heat a drizzle of oil on medium-high.
- Add the beef*, carrots and mushrooms; season with ½ the spices and S&P.
- Cook, breaking up the meat, 6 to 10 min., until cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
Boil the noodles
- Meanwhile, add the noodles to the pot of boiling water; stir gently to separate.
- Boil, 2 to 4 min., until al dente.
- Drain and rinse.
- Toss with a drizzle of oil to prevent sticking.
Make the lo mein
- To the pan, add the spinach, noodles, soy sauce, sesame oil, ¼ cup water and the remaining spices.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, 2 to 3 min., until combined and warmed through.
Plate your dish
- Divide the lo mein between your bowls. Bon appétit!
