Preparation
Cook the beef
Preheat the oven to 450°F. In a large pan, heat a drizzle of oil on medium-high. Sauté the garlic, 30 sec. to 1 min., until fragrant. Add the beef*; season with ¾ of the spices and S&P. Cook, breaking up the meat, 4 to 6 min., until cooked through.
Mise en place
Meanwhile, separate the lettuce leaves; tear the leaves. Cut the cucumbers lengthwise into 6 pieces. Roughly chop the dill stems and fronds.
Make the vinaigrette & salad
In a small bowl, combine the vinegar, ½ the dill, the remaining spices, 5 tbsp olive oil and S&P. In a large bowl, combine the lettuce and ½ the vinaigrette.
Warm the pita
Warm the pita directly on an oven rack, 1 to 2 min., until soft and pliable. Transfer to a cutting board and cut into wedges.
Plate your dish
Spread the tzatziki out along the side of your plates. Top with the salad, beef and cucumbers. Drizzle the beef and cucumbers with the remaining vinaigrette. Garnish with the remaining dill. Serve the pita on the side. Bon appétit!
*Health Canada recommends cooking ground beef to a minimum internal temperature of 71°C.
